Merlin™ is PMI's AI assistant built directly into PQ Canvass. It reviews entire recordings automatically, classifies disturbances against IEEE and ANSI standards, ranks events by severity, and lets you ask follow-up questions in plain English through a chat interface. Merlin™ is deterministic-first — all measurements come from established analytics; AI is used to interpret and explain, not to invent results.

Merlin™ is available through PMI sales — not self-serve. Contact your PMI rep or call (800) 296-4120 to get set up. You'll need an active PQ Canvass account, since Merlin™ lives inside the platform. If you received a Merlin™ Coin at a trade show or event, you can redeem it for credits before July 31, 2026.

Merlin™ currently covers voltage sags and swells (IEEE 1159), steady-state voltage regulation (ANSI C84.1), Pst flicker (IEEE 1453), voltage THD, loose neutrals, and voltage imbalance. It produces a three-step workflow: hands-on data review, PQ analysis, and a PQ report that ranks events, recognizes patterns, and provides next steps.
